There is an understanding that I would love to bring upon the tablets of your mind so that you can better understand how limiting lust and sexual sin is to your advancement in life. It is already established that God hates all kinds of sin. There is no big sin or small sin, all sin is sin.
It is written that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost and that you are your own because, you are bought with a price. Therefore, having this understanding goes a long way to help you live righteously, uprightly and blameless before God. This is because; you are the temple of God and the temple of God should be holy, free from all contamination and guile. Lust and sexual sin are some of the contamination that pollutes this temple of God called your body.
It is quite sad that many people feel that lust and sexual sin are not acts that should be considered as sin. But it was Jesus that was speaking in Matthew 5:28, he said that Whosoever shall look at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her already in his heart. It is from this passage that we know that lust is equivalent to committing adultery and adultery as you know, is a great sin not only to God but to man as well.
Also, as seen in Hebrews 13:4, the bible says that, Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. This particular verse and other verses prove that sexual sin is a great sin against God and that those that indulge in these acts are under the judgment of God.
Having this understanding therefore, I would employ you to pray these prayers so that God again can look upon you with mercy as you get yourself freed from every influence of lust and sexual sin.
1John 1:9 says, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Prayer Point: Lord! I believe your word and I ask that you forgive all my iniquity and restore me to that place of right standing with you. Today, I say no to lust and sexual sin. I declare that its hold is broken over me in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
Matthew 6:22 says that, The light of the body is the eye: if your eye therefore, is single, your whole body shall be full of light.
Prayer Point: My Father and my God! Truly, I admit that my eye is not single. I have allowed lust to take over my life leading to sexual sin thus; I ask that you flood me with your light afresh. I see correctly and act rightly from this moment forward. May you grant me the ability never to lust again in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
2 Timothy 2:22 says that, Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Prayer Point: Lord! I declare that from today henceforth, I will follow righteousness, faith, charity and peace with your sons and daughters. I refuse every bad company that will corrupt my heart and entice me into lusting after any man or woman. I reject every close contact with any man or woman leading to sexual sin and I renounce ever appearance of evil in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Titus 3:3 says that, For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lust and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
Prayer Point: My God! I refuse to live under the guilt of lust and sexual sin. I pronounce your liberty over all my past sins. I ask for grace to live as an example so that the people around me can also see the light and turn from this act of lust and sexual sin. I will not suffer any torment as a result of this new understanding in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen
James 1:15 says that, Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.
Prayer Point: My father! Where can I go from your presence? You know my heart wishes and desires. You know my thoughts; feelings and emotion therefore, help me. Do not allow any lust to conceive in my heart anymore. Do not allow me to defile myself with any man or woman as a result of sexual sin in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
I want you to know that the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus. Therefore, as you have prayed and confessed your short comings, God has forgiven you and has already granted you the grace live above sin.
Don't take the grace of God in vain again, that from this moment forward, you will read your bible and pray every day for help and grace to leave the Christian life. It is done in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
