What you may not know about Speaking against a man of God using Bishop David Oyedepo as a Case Study

Many at times, people are quick to rail curses and abuses to men and women of God over a slight misunderstanding. They allow themselves to be used by the devil to generate campaigns of calumny and propaganda against people whom God has chosen to represent them.

The bible says in 1 Chronicles 16:22 and Psalms 105:15 that you should touch not Gods anointed and do his prophets no harm (paraphrased). What is the implication of this statement? It means that it is God that reserves the sole responsibility to correct a man of God or his servant as you may call it.

It also says in Romans 14:4 that you are not permitted to judge another mans servant because; it is the master that knows his bargain with his servant. It is the master that knows what he want his servant to do. Even though, it doesnt resonant freely to your wavelength, it is what pleases the master thus, no one should question.
Having this understanding therefore, I would say that you are not permitted to speak against a man of God especially if he or she is doing what his master, God wants. If this is not understood, we will be putting stumbling blocks in our paths unawares.

It was alleged that the Lead Pastor of Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, sacked 40 pastors in his ministry and immediately, people swung into action to say all kinds of things about the man of God. They blamed him for being insensitive to the plight of others, for being inconsiderate and wicked. They claimed that no matter what, he should have forgiven or given the pastors another chance seeing the situation of things at the moment.
The question is; how are you sure that he didnt give the pastors another chance for them to change? How are you certain that the bishop was insensitive and inconsiderate to have sacked these pastors? Meanwhile, a pastor who refused to reveal his identity claims that these 40 pastors were sacked as a result of gross lack of competence.

That recently, the church achieved the goal of building 10,000 churches and there was a need for massive pastor recruitment to take over these churches. Thus, in the process of recruiting these pastors, some incompetent pastors also found their way into leadership positions.
However, this incompetence was reported to the headquarters and the bishop inaugurated a team of inspectors to go round these churches and know their state. It was their finding that led to the sacking of these 40 pastors. It was reported that ungodly acts of misconduct, abuse of privileges, deceit and absconding from duties amongst many others were some of the reasons for their being sacked.

Now, since the report is not coming from the Bishop himself, it may still be inappropriate to agree 100% that their sacking was justified. However, whether the report is coming from the Bishop or not, I think it is logical enough. Besides, the Bishop may not owe you an explanation since you didnt employ the pastors either. He solely did the training and employment of these pastors and gave them conditions, if they failed to fulfil those conditions, he can do as he deems fit.
However, the lesson here is that, we should exercise restraint in the way we criticize genuine men of God. If something happens, let us wait to her from the horses mouth before we start peddling false news.

Please, leave your thoughts in the comment section. What do you think about this assertion? Do you think that you have a moral justification to question the bishop or not? Thank you
