Following the death of Prophet T.B. Joshua on 5th June, 2021; there has been wide spread speculation as to whether, the wife of the prophet called Evelyn will be able to succeed her husband as Overseer over the Synagogue Church of All Nation (SCOAN).
We must acknowledge that the vacuum created by the Prophets death is huge and to fill it will be an enormous task but we must also realize that even why the prophet was around, he never did everything by himself. He only directed whenever he received intimation from God in the place of prayer. Thus, leading for him was intimated by the signals and instructions he received in the place of prayer and only ensured that it was followed.
The question we should be asking is whether Prophet T.B. Joshua trained some people to do almost the same things that he was doing? If you answer is in the affirmative then, I feel that the woman of God, Evelyn doesnt have much work to do, she only need to pray for God to give her wisdom on how to direct and manage those she has under her custody. Besides, she has been in the system and must have observed everything from her husband; his prayer life, study life, giving life, service etc. I mean, if anyone should be suited to succeed the prophet physically speaking, it should be the wife until otherwise spoken by God.
There is something vital that we must consider that will help us greatly in our consideration. God uses the weak and beggarly things so as to confound the wise as seen in 1 Corinthians 1:27. In fact, when you feel that you are sufficient of yourself then, you are already rejected but on the contrary, he that recognizes his limitations and asks God for help is enabled and strengthened.
The examples of those that worked with God in the past are replete in the bible and in some documentaries in our present world today. Take for instance, King Saul who was the first king of Israel. He was from the minor tribe of Benjamin and when Saul was told that he will be king he doubted. He couldnt believe that God can choose him from a minor tribe to become the first king of Israel as seen in 1 Samuel 10.
But because God doesnt look at the physical appearance to make decisions, he still made Saul king over Israel. It was written that on the day of coronation, Saul was nowhere to be found, he hid himself among the luggage of the people and God had to show the prophet where he was and he was brought out by force and made king.
What about David who was the second king of Israel? After Saul rebelled against the command of God and his counsel; God told Prophet Samuel to go and anoint a new king for him. One who would obey his command without reservation and God commanded the prophet to go to the house of Jesse and anoint the person that he would choose.
Talking about God not working with those that are qualified in themselves, there was this son of Jesse called Eliab who was blameless from head to toe and was already a valiant man in the Army of Israel. When he appeared before the Prophet Samuel, the prophet stood up and said, the Lords anointed is before him but God rejected him. Even the prophet went back to judging in the physical but God specifically said to him that he doesnt work with appearance but he looks at the heart. This is how all the sons of Jesse kept coming and were rejected by God until David who was looked down upon was chosen and anointed as king. You can see all of this narration in 1 Samuel 16.
We can see from the above story that God qualifies those he chooses and that is why, in both Saul and Davids case; God changed the hearts of men around them and they followed them immediately. Do you believe that the hearts of everybody are in the hands of God and he turns it wherever he wills as the waters over the sea as seen in Proverbs 21:1? If yes then, believe that anybody whom God chooses can effectively lead. This is because, God will empower him with all that is required to lead and rule.
I think that these words can encourage you to have a different perspective to the way you look at the issue and rest assured in Gods ability to empower even those that appears to be the weakest in our eyes. In life, anyone can become anything and thus, should never be looked down upon. Provided that God is involved then, you dont need to worry because, God will take control of everything.
